10 Important FPSC Jobs 2026 Advertisement Details – Apply Online & Latest Updates

FPSC runs three different machines — know which one your post is in

Most candidates say “FPSC jobs” as if it were one thing. It is three:

  1. General Recruitment (GR) — the Consolidated Advertisements. Federal ministries’ BS-16-and-above posts (lecturers, officers, engineers, medical and specialist posts) bundled into one numbered ad, a few times a year. This is what most people mean, and what this guide mainly covers.
  2. CSS Competitive Examination — the annual exam for Pakistan’s civil services. A completely separate calendar (MPT screening → written exam → psychological/medical → viva). Applying to a GR ad does not enter you into CSS, or vice versa.
  3. Case-based shortlisting and results — after an ad closes, every post becomes a numbered “case” (e.g., Case No. F.4-…/2026). Shortlists, syllabus notices, withheld results and interview schedules are all published by case number on the FPSC website. If you don’t know your case number, you cannot follow your own application.

The 2026 advertisement tracker

Advertisement Published Status
Consolidated Advertisement No. 1/2026 Early 2026 (syllabus published 17 Feb 2026) Closed — in test/shortlisting stages
Consolidated Advertisement No. 2/2026 2026 Closed — in test/shortlisting stages
Consolidated Advertisement No. 3/2026 13 August 2026 Applications closed 31 August 2026; Consolidated Advertisement No. 4/2026 is expected in November–December 2026 — check fpsc.gov.pk for its release

Posts seen across the 2026 GR cycle include Professors and Associate Professors, Lecturers, Head Nurse and nursing posts, Medical Technologist, Assistant Accounts Officer, Fire Officer and engineering posts — the mix changes completely with every ad, which is why “FPSC jobs” lists copied from a previous ad are worthless.

On the CSS side: the CSS 2026 cycle is in its results/medical phase in autumn 2026, and the CSS 2027 advertisement is expected in November 2026 (confirm the exact date on fpsc.gov.pk when it is announced).

How to read an FPSC advertisement (the 6 things that decide your fate)

Open the official PDF and find these before anything else:

  1. Case number for your post — your reference for syllabus, shortlists and results for the next 1–2 years.
  2. Qualification + experience exactly as worded. FPSC screens literally: “2 years post-qualification experience” means experience *after* the degree date, not total working years.
  3. Age limit and its calculation date, plus the standard general relaxation where applicable. FPSC ads state the limit per post; do not import the limit from a different post in the same ad.
  4. Quota allocation — merit, provincial and other quotas are printed per post. Your domicile decides which seats you compete for.
  5. Closing date. FPSC’s own guidance is blunt: apply well before it; the portal slows near the deadline and FPSC does not entertain late applications.
  6. The syllabus link for your case — FPSC publishes GR syllabi per advertisement/case on its website. Preparing from a generic “FPSC test” book outline instead of your case syllabus is the most common preparation error.

Applying online, step by step (General Recruitment)

FPSC accepts online applications only — no manual application is accepted, and you do not send hard copies or documents at the application stage for GR posts.

  1. Go to fpsc.gov.pk and open the online application / GR portal (register once; keep your login — you’ll return for tracking for years).
  2. Select the advertisement number, then your post/case.
  3. Complete the form with details exactly matching your documents — name spelling, CNIC, dates, degree titles.
  4. Generate your PSID and pay the fee through 1Link (see next section). Paying the fee and submitting the form are two separate steps — a paid fee with an unsubmitted form is not an application.
  5. Submit, then confirm your application appears in your portal history and save your Tracking ID. (Forgot it? The GR portal has a “Retrieve Tracking ID” facility; FPSC’s helpline is 051-111-000-248, Mon–Fri office hours.)

The fee: PSID + 1Link replaced the old challan

Forget the TR-6 challan routine you may remember — FPSC fee payment now runs on a 16-digit PSID generated by the portal, payable through 1Link: ATM, internet/mobile banking (including Easypaisa/JazzCash), or any 1Link member bank counter. Cheques, bank drafts and pay orders are not the mechanism anymore.

FPSC’s grade-wise test fee schedule for GR posts:

Post grade Fee
BS-16 and BS-17 Rs 300
BS-18 Rs 750
BS-19 Rs 1,200
BS-20 and above Rs 1,500

Always confirm the fee printed in your post’s own advertisement — the ad’s figure governs if it differs from the general schedule. Keep the payment proof/PSID record with your Tracking ID; fee disputes without the PSID trail are nearly impossible to resolve.

After you apply: the long middle everyone forgets

FPSC recruitment is slow by design, and silence does not mean rejection:

  • Screening (MCQ) test is held for most GR posts; the descriptive stage follows where prescribed. Your admission certificate (roll number slip) is downloaded from the FPSC website — nothing arrives by post.
  • Shortlists, withheld lists and document calls are published as web notices by case number. A “withheld” result is not a rejection — in the CSS CE-2026 cycle alone, 505 candidates’ results were withheld pending eligibility scrutiny, with instructions issued via web notice. Check the notices page for your case regularly instead of waiting for a letter.
  • Documents are demanded after shortlisting — attested copies, degrees, domicile, experience certificates. If a document contradicts your online form at this stage, the candidature is rejected then, months after the test. This is why form accuracy matters more than form speed.
  • If FPSC rejects your candidature, there is a formal representation route with a prescribed fee — it exists, it has a deadline, and it only works if your documents genuinely support you.

Teaching and nursing posts through FPSC — two clarifications

  • Is B.Ed compulsory for FPSC lecturer posts? No — FPSC lecturer eligibility follows the advertised qualification (typically a Master’s in the subject with the prescribed division). B.Ed/M.Ed requirements apply only where the specific post’s ad states them. Don’t self-reject over a requirement that isn’t in your case.
  • Nursing posts (Head Nurse, Staff Nurse, Charge Nurse have all appeared in FPSC recruitment) require the prescribed nursing qualification and registration — an unregistered diploma does not become eligible because the post is federal.

Frequently asked questions

What is the latest FPSC advertisement?
Consolidated Advertisement No. 3/2026 (13 August 2026) was the last full advertisement verified for this guide; No. 4/2026 is expected in November–December 2026 — check fpsc.gov.pk for the newest ad before relying on this.

What is the last date to apply for FPSC jobs?
Each advertisement sets its own closing date, printed in the ad and on the portal. There is no standing FPSC deadline.

How do I pay the FPSC fee?
Generate the PSID in the online form and pay via 1Link (ATM, mobile/internet banking, or a 1Link bank counter). Grade-wise fees run from Rs 300 (BS-16/17) to Rs 1,500 (BS-20+).

Do I need to post a hard copy of my application?
For General Recruitment: no — online only, documents are called after shortlisting. (CSS is different: the CSS written-exam application does require sending a signed hard copy with documents — follow the CSS notice, not GR habits.)

Where do I find the syllabus for my post?
On fpsc.gov.pk, in the syllabus section for your advertisement/case number — published separately for Ads 1/2026, 2/2026 and 3/2026. Download your case’s syllabus, not a general one.

How long does FPSC take?
From advertisement to final recommendation routinely runs many months, sometimes over a year. Track your case number on the notices page; that is the only reliable progress signal.

The routine that works

Create your FPSC account once · check fpsc.gov.pk’s advertisements page monthly · when an ad drops, read your case’s six decision points (above) before paying · keep Tracking ID + PSID proof together · then follow your case number, not rumours.
